All across the Christchurch region small groups of people have been coming together to help get Christchurch back to normal. We're privileged to have lent a hand to over 96 organisations including clubs, groups and schools that sought funding from our Rebuilding Communities Programme and received over $6 million in support.
Fonterra offered funding packages of up to $5000 to community projects within the set criteria outlined below. This included:

| We supported the Christchurch community through donations for new safety projects such as safety equipment or training to further prepare the community for future disasters. Support included survival kits and first aid training. | |
| 2. | Christchurch Community |
| We supported the Christchurch community to replace essential community wellbeing equipment lost in the earthquakes. Support includes toys for toys libraries and counselling books. We supported new projects that encourage children to have a positive sense of wellbeing and provide ongoing support to cope with the aftermath of the earthquake. |

| 3. | Environmental Sustainability |
| We supported the restoration of environmental areas which encourage community spirit within schools, early childhood centres and the local community. Examples included replanting trees and replacing garden beds. |
